The most recent meeting of Scoil Iosa’s Board of Management took place in the school on Thursday 18th of October.
It was agreed that, following the meeting, the information below would be communicated to all members of the school community.
- The Board wishes to express sincere sympathy to the Sisters of Mercy and the family of Sister Helen Greene, a former teacher in Scoil Chroí Íosa, who passed away on Saturday last. May she rest in peace.
- An annual review of both the Child Protection Policy and the Anti-Bullying Policy was undertaken at the meeting. Details of each review are available on the school website.
- The Board wishes to thank all of the parents and guardians who paid the book rental fee this year. Those who have not paid in full are asked to do so before the Halloween break.
- The Board is very concerned about the shortage of funds to meet school expenses. It is understood that, although every effort is currently being made to keep expenditure to the minimum, further action is required to ensure that expenditure for the school year is not greater than the amount of funding received from the Department of Education and Skills.
- Bernie McGoldrick, who is currently a learning support teacher, will take over the role of Home School Community Liaison teacher for the period up until after Christmas when Ann Hegarty Loftus returns. A substitute teacher will be employed to take over Ms. McGoldrick’s learning support role.
- A copy of the school’s Whole School Evaluation report may be downloaded from the school website.
- The Board is making every effort to progress the school’s application to the Department of Education and Skills for a new building.
